WAYNE (Artistic Director)

I have been performing for as long as I can remember. My earliest memory of an audition is at around 5 years old. Up until high school it was just fun. At that point I started to take it more seriously. I started assistant directing, stage managing, assistant teaching, and performing in everything I could to hone my craft. After high school I went to SUNY Oswego and graduated with a BA in theatre.

I enjoyed performing but it was clear to me that what I really loved and was good at was teaching. I decided that if that was the path my life was going to take, I should do everything I can to be the best at it. I enrolled at Emerson College and received my MA in Theatre Education.

Since then I have taught and directed kids from age 4-18 at various locations throughout the East coast. Some of my more recent credits include The Polar Express (Utica, NY - 2018), The Lion King, Jr. (Syracuse, NY - 2017), Midsummer Night's Dream (Leesburg, VA - 2015), and Hello Dolly (Hagerstown, MD - 2014).

Baylee (Teacher/Stage Manager)

I am a recent graduate of Drew University where I majored in Theatre Arts and double minored in Arts Administration and Applied Performance. During my time at Drew I was been able to work on countless productions with positions varying from designer, to actor, to stage management, and everything in-between. My most rewarding experience at Drew was Assistant Directing their production of Spring Awakening. I have had the opportunity to study abroad at Globe Theatre in London and work Tectonic Theatre Company in NYC. With a focus in theatre education, I have spent my summers with companies such as Pittsburgh CLO Academy of Musical Theatre working as their Education Intern. Most recently I was an intern at Virginia Children’s Theatre, working to keep children safe while giving them opportunity to participate in the arts during the pandemic. Dreaming to one day open my own children’s theatre, I am thrilled to be working with Utica Children’s Theatre!
